0‐3 day - NicheInterests/mistfunk GitHub Wiki
In the digital [underground], where [pirate]d software was the currency, the freshness of the warez established its value... so this currency had strongly deflationary tendencies. [0-day] (not even available on store shelves yet, the date of official release was I guess day 1) was the gold standard for warez -- the closer to its release date you were, the greater the likelihood other warez doodz had not yet enjoyed an opportunity to snag and recirculate the shiny new program. But after the third day, it started being regarded as stale and suspect, and would soon be mulched to make room for the next batch of 0-day warez. After being 0-3 day, warez were consigned to just being considered [oldwarez], and you would need to visit different flavours of underground BBSes if you had been out of town for three days and missed the release of a program you'd been anticipating. (Or, of course, visit a Radio Shack storefront and purchase it.)
