Development

Office Language Doctor is a browser-first TypeScript/Vite application.

Main architecture

  • src/lib/document/engine.ts: format router
  • src/lib/language/detect.ts: advisory detector
  • src/lib/language/smart-fix.ts: Smart Fix safety policy
  • src/lib/docx/xml.ts: Word run extraction plus paragraph-context text
  • src/lib/docx/scan.ts: Word direct/context detection selection
  • src/lib/pptx/*: PowerPoint OOXML
  • src/lib/odf/*: OpenDocument
  • src/lib/rtf/*: RTF
  • src/lib/report/audit.ts: CSV/JSON audit exports

Word context policy

Repair remains run-level. Context only affects advisory detection.

A context result is accepted when the paragraph detection is reliable, the current run itself is not reliably detected, the run contains linguistic text, and no reliable run in the paragraph contradicts the context language.

Smart Fix treats context-derived mismatches as review-only even at high confidence.

CI

Validation runs on the approved Windows self-hosted runner DESKTOP-0NEP6ON.

Regression includes the eight-run Word proofing-fragmentation case discovered during real DOCM testing, plus the existing Office/OpenDocument/RTF, macro-preservation, report and public-UI checks.

Deployment

The local runner builds Vite and publishes the generated site to gh-pages.

Custom domain: https://language-doctor.cecolab.cat/

Version policy

The package remains 0.5.0. New work accumulates under Unreleased until a deliberate next release.
