Roadmap

The Power CLI extends MographJailed from observing After Effects projects to rendering, checking, searching and packaging After Effects and Cinema 4D work. Progress is tracked in the GitHub milestones; the full plan is docs/PLAN_AE_C4D_POWER_CLI.md in the repo.

Targets: After Effects 2024+ and Cinema 4D 2024+ (Redshift and Physical), macOS Sequoia and newer, one workstation, no network, no sudo.

Next

Milestone Planned
Real-host qualification Run ae.render and c4d.render on a real project/scene on the workstation (needs C4D licensing configured once by hand)
Diffs and batches project.diff, c4d.diff, folder-wide recipes, .c4d save watcher
C4D scene intelligence Headless c4d.inspect / c4d.lint / c4d.package, Redshift-aware checks
AE/C4D bridge bridge.check, multi-pass export, AE comp from passes

Deliberately not planned

  • Running a script through aerender (it only renders; scripting needs After Effects itself).
  • SQLite on a network share (WAL is unsafe there; use one local store per machine and share receipts).
  • Network-connected review syncing inside this tool (it would need outbound access and a third-party SDK; a separate connected tool could write a read-only database for this one to read).
