Due to our improvement approach new issues came up for the second iteration.

Identified Issues

• Selecting an other typ of coffee is not possible in the morning and the afternoon
• Not all users have their own cup at work
• Users do not want their cup to have a barcode
• Long waiting time, when the coffee machine heats up

Idea

The coffee machine selects automatically the preferred coffee on the BSH coffee mashine when standing infront of the coffee machine. The coffee machine knows which is your preferred coffee in the morning and in the afternoon. The coffee machine heats up before peak times to avoid queue.

Solution option

• Heat up machine periodically
• Face recognition and heat up according to usage profiles

We chose the second option because with this option we could solve both issues that came up in the first iteration: selecting another typ of coffee and long waiting times.
