Echo Artifacts - Nate105/Complementary-Series GitHub Wiki
Echo Artifacts are a new set of Artifacts made from Echo Shards and Tattered Fabric. Their main theme revolves around souls.
Obtaining
Echo Artifacts can be crafted from Tattered Fabrics, Echo Shards, and many other miscellaneous items.
Artifacts
There are 6 Artifacts which are part of this Artifact set. All of these artifacts have the Soul Gathering attribute, and all except the Recovery Compass and the Echo Sword require Souls to be used.
Echo Swords
Echo Swords are a weapon which allows the player to harvest souls at maximum efficiency.
Usage
Echo Swords have 1536 Durability Points, +8 Attack Strength, and 20 Enchantability Points, one of the highest values in the game. Not only that, but Echo Swords are the only weapon item with the ability to harvest souls of slain entities. Souls are necessary to use almost all of the other artifacts.
Obtaining
Echo Swords can be crafted out of two Echo Shards, a Sturdy Stick, and two Tattered Fabrics.
Bottles o' Vitality
Bottles o' Vitality are items which allow the player to fully restore their health in exchange for souls.
Usage
Bottles o' Vitality require two souls per half heart lost by the player. If the player does not have enough souls to fully restore their health, then the bottle will fail to be used. Upon being successfully used, the bottle will initiate a 1-minute cooldown and will become reusable after the cooldown has finished.
Obtaining
Bottles o' Vitality require 2 Echo Shards and 3 Tinted Glass to be crafted.
Warp Flares
Warp Flares are items which allow the player to teleport back to their designated spawn point.
Usage
Warp Flares require 50 souls to be used. If the player does not have enough souls, the flare will fail to be used. Upon being successfully used, the player will be teleported back to their spawn point, where a firework-like flare will be set off to mark their return. If the player lacks a spawn point, they'll be taken to the world spawn instead. Keep in mind that Warp Flares take 6.4 seconds to use, 4x more than it takes to eat food items.
[!NOTE] Warp Flares are cross-dimensional, meaning they will always teleport you back to your spawn, disregarding if you're in a separate dimension from it.
Obtaining
Warp Flares require an Echo Shard, two Tattered Fabrics, a piece of Gunpowder, a Stick, and a piece of String to be crafted.
Pouches o' Holding
Pouches o' Holding are items which allow the player to keep their inventory on-death.
Usage
Pouches o' Holding require 80 souls to be used. If the player doesn't have enough souls, they will drop the Pouch o' Holding on-death as well as the rest of their inventory. Pouches o' Holding will automatically attempt to be used as soon as their holder dies, and will work as long as they're in their holder's inventory. Upon being successfully used, the player will respawn will all of their items and the pouch will transform into a piece of Tattered Fabric.
Obtaining
Pouches o' Holding require two Echo Shards, five Tattered Fabrics, and a piece of String to be made.
[!IMPORTANT] Pouches o' Holding need
keepInventory
on to be able to function properly. This will not affect the default item dropping mechanic, and everything should function almost exactly the same. Antiquity will already automatically enable it, but be careful not to disable it.
Recovery Compasses
Recovery Compasses are items part of the vanilla game that allow you to track your last death point. Although Recovery Compasses are part of the normal game, they've been added to the Echo Artifacts category and have been tweaked.
Tweaks
- Recovery Compasses now need one Echo Shard rather than eight to be crafted and instead need more Redstone Dust to be made.
- Recovery Compasses no longer drop on death, regardless of whether a Pouch o' Holding is available or not.
Echo Repositories
Echo Repositories are blocks which allow the player to store either Souls or Experience. The player can Interact to withdraw and Crouch + Interact to deposit. Interacting with the repository while it's empty switches its mode.
Usage
Upon being placed, Echo Repositories will be in Experience mode. In Experience Mode, the player can deposit and withdraw 20 Experience Levels at a time in exchange for 5 souls per action. The levels stored aren't relative, the player will always deposit and withdraw 20 levels, regardless of what level they're on. Experience mode repositories emit green ambient particles.
In Soul mode, the player can deposit and withdraw 25 souls at a time. No additional souls are needed for this process. This has no meaningful purpose besides transferring souls to others. Soul mode repositories emit cyan ambient particles.
Upon destruction, Echo Repositories will grant all of their savings to the destroyer.
Obtaining
Echo Repositories require six Echo Shards and three Tinted Glass to be crafted.
