LUNARC - NRC-Lund/multipark-aiml GitHub Wiki
LUNARC is the Lund University branch of the National Academic Infrastructure for Supercomputing in Sweden (NAISS). It has a computer cluster called COSMOS, which has several NVIDIA A100 GPUs. All researchers at LU can apply to use LUNARC resources for free. However, the MultiPark AI/ML platform already has an active project that MultiPark researchers can join without writing their own application. You still have to jump through the following hoops, though:
- To get access to the LUNARC resource COSMOS, you need a LUNARC account. Here is a guide made by the Lunarc folks for setting up an account, and it consists of four steps:
- Create a SUPR user account.
- Accept the user agreement.
- Request for membership in an existing NAISS project.
- Here, you should specify project LU 2024/7-46, which is the MultiPark AI/ML project. I (Pär Halje) will be notified through the NAISS system, but you can also send me an email to let me know who you are and what you are up to.
- Apply for a LUNARC account.
- In my experience, it can take a few days before they set up your account.
- When you have your LUNARC account, you need to set up a password and install an app on your phone for two-factor authentication. Here are guides for that:
- Now you are ready to log in. I recommend using the virtual desktop, but you can also log in with just a terminal.
Note that MultiPark has a shared folder /lunarc/nobackup/projects/multipark-aiml
. This is the best place to store resources that are shared by several users. The total quota is 1 TB.
