Sales Price Inventory Value - NPSBeograd/NPS-Support GitHub Wiki

🔶 Overview

NPS Sales Price Inventory Value allows you to create and post retail calculations for legal entities primarily engaged in retail. When items are transferred from the wholesale to the retail warehouse, Business Central will automatically generate and post the retail calculation. Additionally, inventory can be directly procured at the retail location, with the retail calculation being generated during the posting of the procurement. This process can be tracked through value entries and general ledger entries. Retail prices are defined in sales price lists, where you have the option to make adjustments when prices change. We recommend creating a new price list for every retail price change to maintain a history of changes and to keep an overview of previous prices. The calculation will be generated for each sale if the sales invoice includes an item from the retail location whose price is defined in the active price list.

🔶 Settings

To obtain postings to the general ledger for retail calculations, you need to set up the Margins Account and Calc. VAT Account on the Inventory Posting Setup page.

Enter Location in the search to get a list of created locations. Clicking on this will create a new location.

At the location, it is necessary to assign a No. Series for adjustments and mark it as a retail location. For each retail location, you need to indicate the following in the Retail section:

  1. Retail Location - Specifies wheather Location is used for Retail.
  2. Posted Sales Price Invt. Adj. Nos. - Specifies the Nos. Code linked to Sales Price Inventory Adjustment Report that are posted from a Price List.

🔶 Sales Price List

The Sales Price List page shows all price lists that are in Active and Inactive status. Inactive price lists contain prices that were valid before the activation of a new price list for the given retail location. Each retail location can have only one active price list. Business Central always uses prices from the active price list, while prices from inactive price lists are not taken into account. Price List No. are set up on the Sales and Receivables Setup page.

Note: We recommend that each customer price group be associated with a single location. Although a customer price group from one location can be used for other locations, Business Central recognizes the price in the price list based on the location and the customer price group. It is important to know that a customer price group assigned to another location does not contain the same items. Otherwise, Business Central will report an error if this rule is violated.

🔹 Price Change - Copy Lines

For every price change, you need to create a new price list. Creating a new price list allows you to preserve the history of all previous prices and price lists. Each price list has its own active period. When you want to activate a new price list, in addition to filling out the General tab, you can use the Copy Lines action to fill in the lines. While creating a new price list, its status is always set to Draft.

Note: The validity dates of price lists at the same location must not overlap. The end date of the previous price list is 31.05.2024, and the start date of the new price list is 01.06.2024

image

The Copy Lines function opens a new window where you select the price list from which lines will be copied. This will transfer items and prices to the lines of the new price list. This function allows you to expedite the process of entering new prices. Since the lines also copy prices from the selected price list, you can change prices.

After copying and modifying prices, the status of the price list is changed to active. Every activation of a price list requires a Price Inventory Adjustment.
