The CMECS Thesaurus is a browsable text output of the CMECS Catalog ecological units (terms and definitions) and implementation guidance available in PDF and MD formats.

  • Browse the latest version of the CMECS Thesaurus (v1.1.0) online

  • Download a PDF of the latest version of the CMECS Thesaurus (v1.1.0). Click on file link to view in browser window. Click on Download icon in upper right corner of browser window file header to download.

The CMECS Catalog contains the ecological units (terms and definitions) plus other attributes, such as the Unit ID, Unit Code, and Unit Status.

NOTE The CMECS Catalog maybe updated with changes (e.g. to attributes and concept properties) that do not alter the ecological units' terms and definitions. Updates to the CMECS Catalog, therefore, do not always require updating the CMECS Thesaurus and the latest versions of the CMECS Thesaurus and the CMECS Catalog may differ.
