What Will Contact Info Be Used For

There are two major uses of the personal contact info of a user:

Communicate With Item Sellers

When user decided to start a transaction with item seller, seller of the second-hand item will gain the permission to access your contact info in order to contact with you about more details of the transaction. You could not start a transaction if you don't have any contact info.

The access permision of your contact info from item seller is temporary. Once the transaction is confirmed or cancelled, the seller will no longer have the permission to access your contact info.

If you update/add/remove your contact info, the user who have permission to access your contact info will be able to see the changes.

About This Design

Here we prefer not to directly public the sellers contact info, which is in order to protect the privacy of the sellers. Instead in our design, when buyer start a trade with seller, the contact info of buyer is not been made public, and only visible to a very limited range of other users (currently only the seller of the item).

Also, we do not prefer to open access of seller contact info to buyer when a trade been started, this is to prevent user for abusing the trade feature to start a trade only for the access of the sellers info.

Identity Verification And Moderation Activities

Contact info could be used to verify the identity of a certain user (For example when you sign in to the system). In some cases, website moderators may also use this info to contact our users if necessary.
