How do I install the game?
Click here to read the installation guide.
My controller isn't working.
Ensure your controller is plugged in before running the game, as there is no runtime controller detection.
Can I use an alias from the original game?
Due to the way the game works, aliases from the original or modified copies of the game will not work on NFSCO. You will need to create a new alias.
Where are aliases stored?
On Windows, the aliases directory is %USERPROFILE%/Saved Games/NFSCO/ALIASES
. You can copy this directory, press Windows + R, paste the directory and select OK to open it.
The game froze during a movie.
The movie player is known to soft-lock the game. Usually when this is about to happen, the movie will not have any audio. You can disable movies by editing the registry.json settings file.
How do I go online?
From the Main Menu screen, enter the Online screen, fill in your player name and server address, and select Connect. You can find the addresses of all official servers on the right side of the screen.
I get disconnected when attempting to connect to a server.
Ensure your NFSCO version is updated and that you are not using a name that starts with a space.
How do I enter free roam?
The same way you enter free roam in single player. From the Main Menu screen, enter Career, then Free Roam.
I can't complete the tutorial, there is no collision.
Ensure you complete the tutorial before connecting to a server, as collision during online races is disabled.
How do I open a race?
Once you are connected to a server, open the chat by pressing T. Enter the /search
command alongside a keyword to find a race ID. For example, /search Lofty
.
Once you have a race ID, use /race
with the race ID to open a race. For example, /race tn.2.4
. You are now hosting a race and players can join it using /join
and the number displayed in the chat. For example, /join 5
would join race number 5.
Once you are ready to begin, enter the /start
command and stay on the Main Menu screen.
Canyon duels, pursuit tags, and pursuit knockouts are currently not supported online.
