6.4 Algorithm
- Step 1:Start the conveyer belt.
- Step 2:Place the trays on the belt.
- Step 3:Moving trays stops at the soil dispensing unit and dispense soil.
- Step 4:: After the step 3, trays move towards the seedling unit.
- Step 5: Trays stops at seedling unit and dispense seeds.
- Step 6: After step 6, trays move towards another soil dispensing unit and dispense the soil again.
- Step 7: After that process, excessive soil collect in dust collector.
- Step 8: Seed sowing process completed.
6.5 Motor Sizing
Motor sizing for DC motor
- Total Weight = 0.25 kg
- Co-efficient of friction between Acrylic sheet and Foam board = 0.7
- Total Frictional Force = 0.25 x 0.7 = 0.175 kg
- Radius of action = 1 cm
- Torque generated = 0.175 kg-cm
- Torque after Factor of Safety = 0.175 x 1.5 = 0.2625 kg-cm
- Therefore, selected motor for above calculated torque requirement is 60 rpm motor.
Motor Sizing for Servo motor
- Total Weight = 0.1 kg
- Total Force = 0.1 kg
- Radius of action = 1 cm
- Torque generated = 0.1 kg-cm
- Torque after Factor of Safety = 0.1 x 1.5 = 0.15 kg-cm
- Therefore, the selected motor for the above-calculated torque requirement is Tower MG90 motor.
Adapter Sizing
For DC Motor * Voltage required to run DC Motor = 12V
- Current drawn by motor at full load = 300 mA
- Number of DC Motors = 1
- Total current required = 1 * 300 = 300 mA
- Current required after factor of safety of 1.2 = 1.2 * 300 = 360 mA
- Therefore Adapter required for DC Motor should be rated 12V, 1A.
For Servo Motor

- • Voltage required for servo motor = 5V

- • Stall current of Servo motor = 660 mA

- • Total current required = 3* 660 = 1980 mA
