MSM ‐ English - MythMega/mysurvivalmods GitHub Wiki
MSM is compatible only with Windows for now. If there's demand, a version compatible with Mac & Linux might be considered.
To download the executable file, visit this page. Make sure to download the latest version whenever possible.
To install the tool, you need to place it in your mods folder inside your .minecraft folder (usually located at C:\Users{your username}\AppData\Roaming.minecraft\mods\ ). I highly recommend placing it in a completely empty mods folder.
As you can see, the app is divided into 5 sections:
• Context Menu
This section allows you to quit, manage profiles, get information, or change the theme.
• Mods
Firstly, a list of mod types/mods, accompanied by checkboxes. You can click on a mod group name (e.g., Litematica) to get information about the performance impact if you use that mod. Then there are two buttons: "Enable All" and "Disable All." They will check or uncheck all mods. However, these changes won't take effect until you click "Execute," so your checkbox selection will apply during the next game launch.
• Language List
Basically, this lets you quickly change the application's language. No further modifications needed.
• System
Here you'll find some very useful buttons, like "Install Fabric," which is necessary for mods.
• Quick Profiles
This section allows you, once profiles are created, to quickly switch between configurations of enabled or disabled mods.
For the first-time usage, you'll need system files and mods. Some system files are created automatically if they don't exist in the directory, while others will be downloaded. To start using the application, you need to "Update/Download Mods" using the button in the "System" section. By default, all mods are enabled.
To use profiles, you must first create them. Here are the steps to create a profile:
• 1) Activate/Check the mod categories you want to enable in your profile. • 2) Give a name to your profile in the field at the beginning of the "Quick Profiles" section. • 3) Save your profile by going to the context menu, selecting Profile ► Save Profile ► (your profile name).
Afterwards, the button corresponding to your profile should change its name.
Note: If no name is provided, your profile will be saved with the name it originally had.
You can launch the Minecraft launcher using the Minecraft launch button. By default, the tool searches for the launcher in the default folders. If this doesn't work, an error message will be displayed. In this case, you'll need to locate the .exe file of the Minecraft launcher via the context menu. If you are using the Microsoft Store version of the launcher, unfortunately, an error message will appear. Click the button to the right of the Minecraft launch button and paste the Minecraft path. This action will be necessary only once.
The Shader Manager allows you to update your favorite shader packs. It's a selection of shaders that will be updated gradually. The fact that shaders are renamed only with their names and not their versions allows you to retain your shader settings despite updates. The list of supported shaders is not final and may change over time. If you want to submit your own shader or suggest one for the Shader Manager: Submit an Issue
The Resource Pack Manager lets you update your favorite resource packs. It's a selection of resource packs that will be updated gradually. The list of supported resource packs is not final and may change over time. If you want to submit your own resource pack or suggest one for the Resource Pack Manager: Submit an Issue
The Minecraft Version Switcher is a new control at the top of the Manager window that allows you to switch the version of your installed Minecraft mods. All this without losing your profiles. Note that we do not guarantee compatibility with very old versions of Minecraft.
