Description

Piglin Royal with two Piglin Brutes The Piglin Royal is a boss mob found in Royal Castle Remnants in the Nether. Players that are within 20 blocks of one will gain Piglin's Decree, making them unable to place any blocks and unable to mine any blocks normally found in the castle remnants. Similar to Piglin Brutes, the Piglin Royal does not care if a player is wearing gold or not and will instantly aggro when they get close enough. Piglin Royals will only become neutral if the player is wearing a Piglin Talisman. A Piglin Royal that has been aggro'd will be permanently aggro'd and will never stop acting like a player is present. The Piglin Royal has a natural 25% damage reduction to non-melee attacks to it and becomes completely immune to non-melee damage once it is under half health.

Abilities

The Piglin Royal has 4 unique abilities, each of which make it a dangerous foe to fight. The cooldowns of these abilities tick down 75% slower if the Piglin is currently full.

Heavy Stomp

Every 15 seconds, the Royal will lift its leg up and then stomp the ground. This will only hit grounded players, so those that jump before it will be able to dodge it. If it hits a player, they take 6.5 damage and are then knocked upwards and towards the Royal. During the few seconds after their stomp, any player that enters the airspace above their head will be eaten, regardless if it is from the stomp or not. The velocity at which the player is launched towards the royal increases as their distance from the Royal increases. This attack's current cooldown decreases by 1.5 seconds whenever the Royal is attacked.

Summon Binding Ring

Every 16 seconds, the Royal will summon a Binding Ring which will chase after any nearby players. If it manages to hit them, they will become Bound and will be pulled towards the Piglin Royal's mouth for its duration where they will more than likely be eaten. More Binding Rings will not be summoned if there is 2 or more already present within an 8 block radius.

Summon Reinforcements'

Every 22 seconds, the Royal will summon two Piglin to assist it. More Piglins will not be spawned if there are 4 or more already present within an 8 block radius.

Health Threshold Summons

At 65% health and 35% health, the Royal will knock back any nearby players and then instantly summon 3 entities to assist it. The first is a Shielding Ring, which will make the Royal immune to all forms of damage and will explode, instantly binding nearby players if left unchecked. The other two are a Piglin and Piglin Brute at the 65% threshold and two Piglin Brutes at the 35% threshold. Piglin brutes spawned this way will gain Slowness for 4 seconds. Once passed, these two health thresholds cannot reactivate, even if the Royal heals back past them. All of the Royal's other ability cooldowns will be reset to max whenever this ability activates.

Bartering

If a player is wearing a Piglin Talisman and approaches a Piglin Royal without them being angered, they will be given an Attuned Binding Ring. Bringing a barterable mob to the Castle Remnant and using the ring on them will feed them to the Royal. If the player ever needs more Attuned Binding Rings, they just need to right click the Royal with a gold ingot to convert it. Once the mob is digested, the Piglin Royal will grant the player a special item.

Bartering with Royals follows 5 long progression chain. The first four are normal, with the third giving an additional reward of a Bejeweled Smithing Template. After the fourth, the Royal will request a max weight gain Zombie. They can still be bartered like normal during this time with other mobs, but feeding them the Zombie they want will reward the player with their very own tamed Piglin Royal Knight. Once this main progression is completed, the player can then endlessly trade with the royal, gaining a bonus Bejeweled Smithing Template every 4 trades.

The possible rewards from bartering with the Royal are:

  • 1 Netherite Ingot (3%)
  • 1 Netherite Scrap (7%)
  • 1 Ancient Debris (15%)
  • 10-29 Gold Ingots (20%)
  • 1 Netherite Upgrade Template (8%)
  • 5-9 Ender Pearls (12%)
  • 3-10 Diamonds (15%)
  • 19-32 Bottles of Enchanting (20%)

The mobs that can be bartered to the Royal are Vinemaidens, Zombies, Cows, Donkeys, Hoglins, Horses, Llamas, Mooshrooms, Mules, Pandas, Pigs, Polar Bears, Sheep, Sniffers
