Unlike the base tgstation firing pins are not generated with weapons by default on The Girly Station. You will need to obtain a firing pin and slot it to most weapons in order to fire them. All the existing ways of obtaining a firing pin other than spawn remain although there are additional options in The Girly Station:

  • Miner's Pins; These come from mining vendors and require a separately purchased implant to fire. Shaft Miners Round Start with these implants and KAs spawn slotted with them by default. The Miner's Starter Kits come with 1 preslotted implanter for new recruits, however they will have to obtain a KA Elsewhere (most likely from a Miner's Locker). If all you need is the implants and need more than one the Mining Vendor or Cargo can provide a better deal than the conscript kit.

  • Girl Pins; These come from a "Girly Stuff Vendor" and require the firing user to be female to auth

  • Admin Pins; These are a prototype pin that requires admin perms to fire. (as of writing admin pins remain untested)

Weapons That are exempt from the Firing Pin restrictions are as follows:

  • Any weapon that uses a syndicate firing pin
  • Any weapon that is magical in nature
  • Any weapon slotted on a cyborg
  • Any weapon that is "Unrestricted"; These are defined as separate spawns in the code
  • Weapons who cannot normally slot a firing pin
  • Kinetic Accelerators which spawn with a Miner's Pin

In Short - if a pre-existing weapon defined it's pin as being missing or not missing in a separate spawn type it has the ability to be pre-pinned in the defined state.

There are some quirks to be aware of with the new firing pin types:

  • Most can't be emagged; but can be replaced by another type
  • Girlpins can directly replace other pins without having to preform a removal craft
  • Miner's Pins are expected to replace Mindshield Pin's as the default "Exploit"-type OP; This is intended behavior
  • Admin Pins delete (not explode) the gun on removal
  • Instant Death labelled as such are pre-slotted with an admin pin
