⚠️ Notice - The game is free on Steam using the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 - Dedicated Server. * This downloads all base game files (SP, SO and MP), except for iw5sp.exe and iw5mp.exe! - If you bought the game on Steam, you can use Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 - Multiplayer. - Download the game in English, otherwise you may encounter problems with missing files.
You'll need to create a Steam account, if you don't have one yet.
Open Steam, go to the "LIBRARY" tab and select "TOOLS" from the drop-down menu (screenshot).
Find "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 - Dedicated Server" in the list below.
If you bought the game, you can do the same with "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 - Multiplayer".
Right-click it and go to "Properties..."(screenshot).
Go to the "LANGUAGE" tab and select "English", then click the "close icon" to close the Properties window (screenshot).
Click "INSTALL", then click "Next" and "Finish". Wait until the download is completed.
Whether you bought the game or not, you will get some free DLC maps (Erosion, Aground and Terminal).
If you want to install and play TeknoMW3, go to How to play TeknoMW3 and continue with the installation instructions (from step 2).
If you want to host a TeknoMW3 Server, go to How to setup a TeknoMW3 Server and continue with the installation instructions (from step 2).
Downloading the DLCs
This is not necessary, but optional. You only need DLCs, if you want to be able to play on DLC maps.
Download the DLCs from Steam, if you own them. Otherwise, we can't help you, you can Google it.
Note that DLCs are affected by language.
If you have the game in Spanish and download the DLCs in English, you may find certain errors or they may not work.
But it only affects the SP/SO, for the MP it doesn't matter.
