ElkArte is pretty simple to install!

Things required to install ElkArte onto your website:

  • 15 Minutes (Less or more, depending on your internet speed)
  • PHP 5.2+ (5.3.0 recommended)
  • MySQL 5.0.19 or Postgresql 8.3
  • FTP (Filezilla recomemended)
  • Web Host

Once you have all the required items, follow the following steps:

  1. Download the Elkarte files files**
  2. Once down, open up your web host and find your FTP access
  3. Open up your FTP and fill in the details (tutorials can be found on Google)
  4. Once connected, find the Elkarte files from your computer and upload them to the site's file manager (tutorials can be found on Google)

Once you have completed all the steps above, follow the steps below:

  1. Once all files have been uploaded, head over to your forum on a browser and you will see an installation page. Click Next and you will see a page asking for your database information
  2. Make a database tthrough your Web host (tutorials found on Google) and fill in the fields
  3. Click next and it will take you to a page where you can choose the name and link for your forum
  4. Once done, click next and you should be taken to a page where yo make an admin account
  5. Finally, oonce at is done, click next and it'l tell you that it has created some rows and tables
  6. Voila! There you have it! Your own forum!
