The Soulspring Lamp is an item that reduces the local world temperature to a habitable level in the Nether. It is the most important tool when traversing the dimension.

When held in the player's main hand or offhand, the soulspring lamp emits a 9x9 aura of cooling, reducing all nearby entities' temperatures to at most 1 degree below the overheating threshold. This effect does not stack with multiple lamps, and only one soulspring lamp consumes fuel if multiple are present.

During use, the soulspring lamp gradually runs out of fuel. The rate of fuel consumption depends on how high the world temperature is above the player's maximum threshold. This can be anywhere from 6 to 18 fuel per minute.

By default, the soulspring lamp is fueled with soul sprouts, with each one increasing the lamp's fuel by 4. This means 16 soul sprouts can completely fuel an empty soulspring lamp Fuel items are inserted into the soulspring lamp by clicking the fuel item onto the same slot as the lamp when in an inventory.
