Full and basic support

MO2 was initially made to support Bethesda games such as Skyrim or Fallout, thus a lots of MO2 features are Bethesda-oriented. Since version 2.4.0, MO2 introduced basic support for other games. This support might still be limited but we are working on improving it! If you'd like to see a new game supported, hop on our Discord server.

With basic support you should expect MO2 simply placing files from inside mods into a specific folder virtually. Mo2 will only show conflicts between files if the files actually overlap, many games use different folders for each mod, which means that no conflicts will show up in mo2. Also in some games that require files to be placed on top level of the game folder, mO2 might have problems virtualizing dll files and executables due to limitations of the VFS.

Some of the games will have some additional features implemented, like mod validity recognition, simple installer support for simple archives and save game listing. If the game requires patching, or uses some sort of plugin system that isn't the bethesda one, you should not expect any support for it.
