Spawning and taming

Raccoons are common spawns in temperate forest biomes. They always spawn in groups of 2-4 animals. Male and females are equally likely to spawn, and sexually dimorphic.

The raccoon is a medium speed, defensive animal; they will acknowledge players, but not attack them unless hit.

Raccoons can be tamed with omnivore kibble.

Care

Raccoons have 5 hearts (10 points) of health, can deal 1 hearts of damage, and drop 1 small meat upon death.

Raccoons are small animals with moderate food needs. They eat a scavenger diet.

Raccoons can use the branch, rope, scented ball, tire swing, puzzle feeder, and apple ice treat enrichment items.

Raccoons are a high fertility species, and can be bred with raw small meat. As small-sized animals they have a gestation time of 40,000 ticks, and give birth to 2-3 babies that will take 3 1/3 minecraft days to reach adulthood.

Exhibit building

(note: exhibit building sections contain a mix of gameplay information and building advice. Not all recommendations are necessary to keep animals happy, fed, and watered, but can help players build a realistic enclosure.)

Variants

Raccoons have 5 natural variants: Capone, Floyd, Nelson, Dillinger, and Luciano. Siegel, a leucistic variant, is captive-bred and does not spawn naturally. These are in-game color variants, not real subspecies.
