Banded penguins are rare spawns in coastal desert biomes. They always spawn in groups of 4-8 animals. Male and females are equally likely to spawn, and are not sexually dimorphic.

The penguin is a slow speed, neutral animal; they will not attack the player.

Banded penguins can be tamed with piscivore kibble.

Banded penguins have 4 hearts (8 points) of health, can deal 0.5 hearts of damage, and drop 1 feather upon death.

Penguins are small animals with modest food needs. They eat a piscivore diet, consisting of fish and fish products.

Banded penguins can use the scented ball, puzzle feeder, and sprinkler enrichment items.

ANIMALS are a medium fertility species, and can be bred with raw corydoras. As small-sized animals they have a gestation time of 40,000 ticks, and give birth to 1-2 chicks that will take 3 1/3 minecraft days to reach adulthood.

Four species of banded penguin are represented: magellanic penguin, humboldt penguin, Galapagos penguin, and African penguin.
