Temperature wave method

Is a method for computing temperature diffusivity and relative thermal capacitance. Method of planar (plane) temperature wave allows one to measure thermal properties of substance using only a single temperature sensor. It may be thermocouple, photodiode or any other quick and responsive temperature sensor. It is needed to accurately measure amplitude and phase of temperature fluctuations.

To make such a measurement you need a harmonic periodic source of heat that you apply on one side of a sample and measure temperature fluctuations on the other side. Phase difference between heat wave and temperature fluctuations is then passed into a series of simple equations and as a result we get temperature diffusivity.
