Pseudo Levels - Migsect/Pathfinder-Homebrew-References GitHub Wiki
Pseudo-Levels are very much like normal levels, but with some significant differences:
- Pseudo-Levels in a class do not grant hit-dice, base-attack-bonus, will-saves, fort-saves, or refl-save bonuses.
- Anything that is gained on a level basis are not granted.
- For rules that depend on the level of a character, pseudo-levels do not contribute to those levels.
- Pseudo-Levels and their side-effects cannot be for requirements of feats or other classes.
- Characters must first achieve the level normally and cannot take the level after a pseudo-level. Pseudo-levels then will advance to the next level.
- For example, a character with 5-levels in fighter and 2-P.Levels in fighter will have their fighter level be shown as Fighter[5+2], giving them the class features of a level 7 fighter but the stats and skills of a level 5 fighter. If a character gains an additional level in the fighter class, they do not gain the stats and skills of a level 8 fighter, but rather those of a level 6 fighter. Better put, normal levels are always below pseudo-levels with what effects they grant.
Regardless, what a Pseudo-Level does grant is:
- All class features
- All class skills
- All class armor and weapon proficiencies
- The ability to select a class archetype (only when selecting a level in a class when one has no levels in)
- All level-based spell slots
