Assembly - Micha213/BlueRetro-PS1-2-Receiver GitHub Wiki

When all parts are prepared as mentioned before, you can assemble the BlueRetro receiver.

Have you swapped the cable for the 8V line on the PS2 connector? If not, look here again: New wire for power

Before you solder the connector cables to the PCB, you should insert the PCB together with the attached front panel and the connector in the lower part of the housing. The arrangement of the solder pads corresponds the arrangement of the cables. Only the middle cable for 3.5V is not used. It can just be cut off. Pin 8 (INT) is also not assigned on the plug and remains free.

There are two GND pads on the board. One is for the GND wire from the plug. The second is for the cable shielding. This can optionally be soldered as an additional GND connection.

Since there is not much space for the wires in the housing, the wires should be cut to the appropriate length and soldered. I work on one wire at a time. Cut the wire to a suitable length, strip and solder, then the next wire. Make sure that the wires do not lie over the holes and their surroundings where the screw will have to go through later. Be very careful not to damage the inner conductors when stripping the insulation. It is best to try it on the cut-off cable of the controller first. The conductors are very thin and delicate. Be careful, the wires break off very easily at the soldering point, so the plug should not be moved much after soldering.

Finally, put on the upper housing part and screw it together with the four screws and nuts.
