Ali controller plug - Micha213/BlueRetro-PS1-2-Receiver GitHub Wiki
I found some usable PS controller plugs on Aliexpress. They are not as good as the original plugs, but better than the cheap controller extensions.
The case was modified so that the plugs hold well. In the "Case" directory are the files "BlueRetro2_PS1_bottom_Ali.stl" and "BlueRetro2_PS1_top_Ali.stl" suitable for the Ali controller plug.
It is best to pre-tin the connector pins with some solder. If the pins do not accept solder, grind the surface of the pins a little. Then the solder should hold.
Insert the PCB together with the attached front panel and the controller plug into the lower part of the housing. The arrangement of the solder pads corresponds to the arrangement of the pins from the controller plug. Note that the pins for INT and 3.5V are not connected and remain free. The rest can be connected according to the schematic (see Assembly). Wire with sufficient thickness should be used for the power supply 8V and GND. Connect one pin at a time, making sure that the wires are positioned so that they will not be pinched by the case later.
Finally, put on the upper housing part and screw it with the four screws and nuts. The finished BlueRetro PS1/2 receiver is slightly shorter with the Ali connector (left) than with the original connector (right).
