Introduction

Maddalena Mux McMinedroid, Minedroid's mascot.

Minedroid is the operating system that powers Immersibrook's smartphones.

As of August 2023, it is currently at version 1.0.0.10.

Features

Currently, Minedroid has the following functionality:

  1. The ability to make and receive phone calls as well as interact with conference calls.
  2. Assign the device a unique phone number.
  3. The ability to receive Wireless Emergency Alert messages.
  4. A simple calculator app.

Phone Activation and Home Screen

Activation

When a player turns on a new smartphone, they will be met by the Phone Activation screen. If they haven't used a smartphone already, they will also receive the Digital Revolution advancement.

After the player selects their desired number, the words "Phone Activated" will appear briefly before taking the player to the Home Screen.

Note: The player needs to be in range of a Cell Tower in order to successfully activate a Minedroid phone. Attempting to activate while out of coverage will return an error stating that the phone is out of range.

Home Screen

The Home Screen is Minedroid's main interface. It's where the user can access all elements of their device through app icons on this interface. It will also display a wallpaper that the user will be able to change through the Settings app.

The Home Screen is made up of three components: The Apps Board, Top Status Bar, and Bottom Button Bar.

  • The Apps Board is where icons leading to Minedroid apps can be located.
  • The Top Status Bar shows the in-game time and has a meter for the phone's Signal Strength.
  • The Bottom Button Bar consists of a black bar with a centered circular Home button. Clicking that button from within any app will return the user to the Home Screen.
  • The design of the icons, menu bars, and Home button will change depending on which theme is active.

Phone App

To access the Phone app, click the green phone icon on the Home Screen.

When accessing the Phone app, the first screen (shown above) will be displayed, allowing the user to dial the number they want to call. Dialing can be done by either clicking each numbered button individually, or by entering the number using the Number keys on your keyboard.

Once a valid number has been entered, clicking the green phone icon next to the Zero button will initiate the call. Dialing an invalid or non-existent number will return an error message.

When a call is pending, the recipient's phone will ring and, when right-clicked, will display the above screen showing the following:

  • The number of the player calling them.
  • A green Accept Call button (left).
  • A red Reject Call button (right).

Clicking the green Accept Call button will answer the call, and clicking the red Reject Call button will dismiss the call and return a Rejected message to the caller.

Notes:

  1. Minedroid is not an actual operating system. It is an interlinked network of Minecraft GUIs.
