Project purpose - MathparLearningTeam/Documentation GitHub Wiki
"Mathpar Learning" is a project which aims to provide schools or other studying institutions with reliable tools for improving student's learning experience. Distance learning experience in particular. It uses Mathpar as cloud computations provider to support complex tasks with open answer.
System use case
Director can create a school in the system by filling the specific form on his own account page. Afterwards the invitations to join the school staff can be sent to any email. This way school is populated with teachers, head teachers and students. Also school administrator or teacher can create the learning plan using their own materials or one of the templates provided by the system. When learning plan already exists, teacher or administrator can create a students group from associated students and assign it to the plan. When student logs in the system he can see all the learning plans assigned to the groups he is in. Each learning plan has materials for user to learn and practices or examen to complete divided in blocks. Administration and teacher can see each student's progress on a specific task from plan. They can also see the statistics of different sets of users (teacher has less privileges thus visibility).
Main features of the project include:
- Different types of tasks to solve (including tasks open-type tasks where you need to write down step-by-step solution)
- Enhanced monitoring tools for teachers and administration
- Powerful sandbox environment to solve difficult tasks using cloud computing
- Ability to structure learning process in plans or use existing plans from other teachers or // This list can be altered to add new features as time passes
Working with plans
During the learning process, students are following the learning plan: read lectures from the "Mathpar Learning" project's database referenced in plan to gain knowledge and then use it to solve practices and/or exams. Learning plan's tasks are separated in blocks, each block is limited in time (has start and end date). Students can't use materials unless they are opened. Lectures or practices can be referenced at any time but exams are available only once.
P.S. Mathpar Learning database is being originally filled from Mathpar database and can be accessed and altered by teachers.
