Gaming Systems - MaterialFoundry/MaterialDeck GitHub Wiki

This documentation is for the old, deprecated Material Deck v1. The new documentation for v2+ can be found here.

Starting with v1.7.0, all gaming-system related code has been split up into separate modules.

Supported Systems

The following gaming systems are supported:

System Material Deck Module Project Source Author
Dungeons & Dragons 3.5e Material Deck - Dungeons & Dragons 3.5e link Material Foundry
Dungeons & Dragons 5e Material Deck - Dungeons & Dragons 5e link Material Foundry
Forbidden Lands Material Deck - Forbidden Lands link Material Foundry
Pathfinder 1 Material Deck - Pathfinder 1 link Material Foundry
Pathfinder 2e Material Deck - Pathfinder 2e link Material Foundry
Shadow of the Demon Lord Material Deck - Shadow of the Demon Lord link Material Foundry
Starfinder Material Deck - Starfinder link Material Foundry
Star Wars FFG Material Deck - Star Wars FFG link Material Foundry
Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay 4e Material Deck - Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay 4e link Material Foundry

Unsupported Systems

If your gaming system is not supported, it does not automatically mean that you cannot use system-specific features of Material Deck. Many systems are very similar to each other, this means that you might be able to get away with installing a different system. Good ones to try are 'Dungeons & Dragons 5e' and 'Dungeons and Dragons 3.5e', since many systems are based on those. When installing a different system than your actual gaming system, Material Deck will by default not recognise it. However, you can force Material Deck to use any system by setting the 'System Override' in the module settings.

Installation

The system modules can be installed from the Add-on Modules page in the Foundry setup. Search for one of the modules mentioned above and press install. Just like any other module, you have to enable the module in the 'Manage Modules' page in your game world.

Maintenance

I'm looking for developers who want to (help) maintain these systems. If you're interested, please let me know.

Developing For New Systems

There is a system template available to make developing new systems easier. Follow the steps in the readme to properly configure your module.
