Displays tested with the MiST
MiST cores have video timings closely derived from the timing of original machines, resulting in video output that is not 100% VGA compatible. Different displays cope differently with this so below is a list of tested units.
All PAL modes with a vertical scan rate of 50Hz are exceeding the VGA specification which requires at least 56Hz. Some screens can support a horizontal scan rate of 15khz (TV) modes although this is way below the VGA requirement of 31.5kHz.
Please note in the comment column of single cores/video modes are not supported.
Display | size | Rating | 50Hz | 15kHz | Comments |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
LG M1717A | 17" 4:3 | 99% | Yes | Yes | Multisync, support 15khz on vga input |
LG M1917A | 19" 4:3 | 99% | Yes | Yes | Multisync, support 15khz on vga input |
Eizo Flexscan L568 | 17" 1280x1024 | 95% | Yes | Yes | permanent "signal out of range" message on 15kHz modes, works anyway |
Eizo Flexscan MX1905 | 19" 1280x1024 | 90% | Yes | No | |
Dell 1908FP | 19" 1280x1024 | 90% | Yes | No | |
ASUS VE248H | 24" 1920x1080 | 95% | Yes | No | Displays all cores without problems (even the SMS and GB one) |
Eizo Flexscan M1700 | 17" 1280x1024 | 95% | Yes | No | Displays all cores without problems (even the SMS and GB one) |
SiDi can connect to upscalers like OSSC for connect on TV with HDMI input.
