Where do I start? - MakersTeam/Edison GitHub Wiki
The first place to go to start using the Intel® Edison Platform is the Intel's Getting Started Guide.
There, you will be asked for the expansion board you have: Arduino* Expansion Board or Mini-Breakout Board. Depending on the expansion board, you have to follow first the respective Intel's Assembling Guide:
Once you have assembled your Intel® Edison, you have to select the OS you are using in order to download the Edison's Drivers. Then you will be ready for the next steps of the getting started guide.
At the end, the Intel's Getting Started Guide asks for which IDE you prefer to use. You have three options to choose (you can setup all of them if you want):
The Intel® XDK IoT Edition is a good option if you prefer programming in JavaScript. On the other hand, the Eclipse* IDE is a good option if you prefer the C and C++ languages.
Finally, you will be guided through a blink example to test the correct functionality of your board.
