Edison's Drivers - MakersTeam/Edison GitHub Wiki

As any other hardware, you first need to install the appropriate drivers to use it. The drivers needed by the Intel® Edison depend on the OS used.

Windows*

The drivers needed are two:

In the case you have a 32-bit Windows* machine, you should install the drivers above manually in which case you might want to check the 32-bit Windows* drivers installation guide. But if you have a 64-bit Windows* machine, you can use the 64-bit Windows* Integrated Installer instead of installing the drivers manually. It installs the necessary drivers, updates your board's firmware, and installs your chosen IDEs. You can also install the drivers manually if you don't want to use the 64-bit Windows* Integrated Installer.

Mac* OS X*

The neccessary drivers can be installed using the Mac* OS X* Integrated Installer. The Mac* OS X* Integrated Installer updates your board's firmware, and installs your chosen IDEs.

Note: The FTDI drivers should already be installed, but if they are not you should install them.

Linux*

There are not drivers needed for Linux* machines. An Integrated Installer like the one used for Mac* OS X* machines will be available soon. This installer will update your board's firmware, and install your chosen IDEs.

Note: The FTDI drivers should already be installed, but if they are not, you should install them.
