This page will explain the different decks and zones in the play field.

Player deck - randomized cards not visible to anyone - to be drawn by the player as needed. Player hand - cards drawn from the player deck - seen by the player and nobody else (unless some ability or card permits)

Energy Zone - cards that the player would like to use for energy will be played here to be used for spells/abilities. Upon use these cards will be discarded into the player's energy discard pile.

Used Pile - Any card the player uses for its primary purpose goes here when it is no longer in play. This pile is essentially a history of cards played in the match (with some order changes due to persistent cards)

Energy Discard Pile - cards that the player must discard, either from use or from damage taken, will be placed into the discard pile. Cards here will be slowly added back into the player's deck to be drawn again.

Quest deck - in the case of a duel, randomized cards not visible to anyone. The card on top is flipped over and becomes the active quest, when a quest is completed, it gets moved to a completed quest pile. - in the case of a party adventure, the GM will be the only one needing to use this deck. The GM may shape the adventure by stacking this deck to his or her liking.
