251 line switcher

The S-6 was introduced alongside the RS-11 and it's counterparts of the original 251 powered locomotive line up. Being a replacement for the earlier S-5, the worth of the 251 had been proven and the S-6 sold reasonably well for an Alco locomotive, having a little over 100 units produced before being superseded by the T-6. Due to the solid design of the 251 and it's desirable power rating, many lived on into second lives and survive today.
