The LRS-1200 (offered under designation A-3174) was a 1200 horsepower roadswitcher offered by Lima-Hamilton. The sole roadswitcher produced by Lima to actually be built in steel, 16 were produced with a second set ordered; however Baldwin acquired Lima-Hamilton and these orders were fulfilled with Baldwin RS-12s instead. Unlike the LT-2500, the LRS-1200s survived to see Penn Central service; repower experiments with EMD 567 engines were conducted. A steam generator was offered, with a rather prominent stack in the shorthood. Owing to a multitude of factors, none survive today.
