C428 - MagnumMacKivler/RLCPT2 GitHub Wiki

The C428 was designed right around the time of the C430, but after the C425. Being basically a C628 sans two axles and electrical madness, the C428 was most likely an offering for higher horsepower in a lighter package; Unfortunately, none were ever produced, so the C428's reasoning may never be fully understood.

Notes

⚠: Not Verified or Educated Guess

(1): Late production C428s could be bought with Alco's two-axle Hi-Ad trucks, boosting the adhesion to 29%.

(2): Later in production the gearing options changed, making the base speed 67 MPH and the max speeds 67, 75, 79, or 84 MPH
