Kaho:
I’m coming in! Let’s continue our training to…day?

Kozue:
Hinoshita-san.

Kaho:
Y-yes?

Kozue:
Please, take a seat.

Kaho:
Um… okay…

Kozue:
You’ve been really practicing hard recently, haven’t you?

Kaho:
Yeah, well…

Kozue:
I’ve heard you’ve been uploading your practice sessions to your channel too. By the way, do you do anything on your channel besides upload videos? Things like analyzing the response to your content, or reading comments, for example.

Kaho:
Huh!? O-oh, sorry… I haven’t gotten around to it lately…

Kaho:
I understand that my fans would say nice things in the comments, but… W-whenever I rewatch my performances, all I can focus on are the parts where I mess up…

Kozue:
I see. That explains it.

Kaho:
W-what is it!? Are people flaming me in the comments!? Are they saying I’m not worthy of being a school idol at Hasunosora!?

Kozue:
Huh?

Kaho:
They are, aren’t they!? They must be! What do I do!? Should I really withdraw after all!?

Kozue:
C-calm down, Hinoshita-san! I-it’s not what you think! Here, just look at this!

Kozue:
You’ve been listed as one of this month’s “Up-and-Coming School Idols”!

Kaho:
H-huh!?

Kaho:
Y-you’re right… B-but why…? This isn’t a bad thing, is it…?

Kozue:
No, of course not. It seems that many people have been watching you earnestly practice. Your videos have received many comments showing excitement for your next performance.

Kozue:
I know that you aren’t working this hard to earn other people’s approval. But the hard work you’ve been putting in is definitely reaching people out there. As your senior, it makes me so proud.

Kaho:
My hard work…

Kozue:
Oh, there’s one more thing I was going to mention. It’s about the outfits we’ll be wearing for this upcoming performance. Let’s go to that stage in Hasunosora’s traditional outfits.

Kaho:
W-what!?

Kozue:
Actually, I’ve secretly been preparing them this whole time. I just wasn’t sure how well you’d take to the serious training I planned to put you through. But, it seems I had no reason to worry.

Kaho:
By traditional outfits, you mean those outfits that have been passed down through the years, right?

Kozue:
Yes. It will be the first time I’ll be wearing them as well. It’s always been a dream of mine to perform in them, so I’m looking forward to our performance.

Kaho:
N-no way, Senpai! I’ve still got so much more practice to do!

Kozue:
You said that before we started practicing. Something like, you wanted to wait two more years.

Kaho:
T-That’s totally different!

Kozue:
In what way?

Kaho:
Well… I mean…

Kozue:
There’s no need to worry. I know you’ll be a splendid Hasunosora school idol.

Kaho:
Oh… A-alright, I get it…! I’ll do my best!

Kaho:
I’ve gotta do my best!!!

Kozue:
Hinoshita-san!? Isn’t that a little too much!?

Kaho:
I’ve gotta keep at it… Gotta go… even harder…!

Kaho:
A-anyway, that’ll be it for today… The day of our performance is finally coming up tomorrow, so I hope you’ll support us~!

Kozue:
Good work today, Hinoshita-san. You’ve also received many comments of approval, haven’t you?

Kaho:
Ehehe… yeah.

Kozue:
If I’m being honest, on that first day of exercising together, when you couldn’t even run 500 meters with me, and you gave up and told me that you couldn’t run anymore… I didn’t expect you’d actually make it this far.

Kaho:
Ahaha… Me too. Actually… I didn’t think I could ever work this hard. Although I did study really hard for those entrance exams… Back then, I would take any excuse I could get to not have to work so hard.

Kozue:
That’s because you didn’t have a strict mentor like me around.

Kaho:
Yeah!

Kaho & Kozue:
Ahaha.

Kaho:
…Could I say something a little personal?

Kozue:
Go ahead. I’d love to hear it.

Kaho:
My family was always pretty overprotective, but…maybe it was my fault they were like that.

Kozue:
Why so?

Kaho:
Hey, Mom… Could I play outside today…?

Kaho's Mother:
No, not yet. You’re still running a fever, aren’t you?

Kaho:
Yeah… Cough, cough!

Kaho:
When I was really young, I was pretty frail… I was actually hospitalized a couple of times. Oh, but I was better by the time I went to middle school!

Kaho:
I was better, but… To my parents, I was still that same little girl.

Kaho:
I always wanted to try new things, but I would never be able to do it. My parents would always worry that I would get sick again.

Kozue:
I see.

Kaho:
Back home, we had a flower garden. The buttercups that grew from there were always so pretty. Every spring, they would always blossom into these really light pastel colors!

Kaho:
My name, Kaho, came from the image of those flowers. I would look out from the window and see those really pretty flowers… But back then, I hated seeing them.

Kozue:
…And why is that?

Kaho:
If you properly care for flowers, they’ll always blossom, right? But I was always frail and sickly, so I couldn’t even have fun and play at school… I wished I could blossom as beautifully as those flowers.

Kaho:
I thought that… if I was properly cared for, I’d also blossom like the flower in my name. But that wasn’t how it turned out.

Kozue:
But then something changed.

Kaho:
Yeah!

Minori:
Hey, Sis, Sis! Come walk with us!

Kaho:
Huh? Why now?

Futaba:
Come on. It’ll just be a little walk.

Kaho:
Not you too, Futaba…

Kaho:
Mom and Dad will probably get mad at us for going into the mountains without permission.

Futaba:
Just a little more.

Minori:
Hurry, hurry!

Kaho:
Ugh, where are we even going…?

Kaho:
It’s a field of flowers…

Futaba:
Look at this, Sis!

Minori:
Here!

Kaho:
Is this… a buttercup? Did you two grow this?

Futaba:
No.

Minori:
I bet this one flower grew from a seed!

Kaho:
I didn’t know… Wow… it’s so pretty…

Kaho:
Buttercups are generally only grown in greenhouses, so it’s rare to see them growing in the wild. But despite that, this flower blossomed in that field. It was almost like it was saying that this was where it belonged, and it would blossom that beautifully just for itself.

Kaho:
Seeing that made me realize that what was most important was to blossom.

Kaho:
Not to follow suit or to bloom like everyone else, but to truly blossom. Whether it was that one flower blossoming on that mountain or the many flowers blooming in greenhouses, they were all amazing.

Kaho:
So I want to blossom. I don’t need to be anything special as long as I blossom in my own way.

Kaho:
O-oh, I’m sorry! I’ve said way more than I was planning to!

Kozue:
No, it’s fine. I’m glad you helped me understand how you think. Thank you, Hinoshita-san.

Kaho:
Ehehe… I’m also glad you took the time to listen to that…

Kaho:
Let’s have a fun performance. Our performance will be so wonderful that the smiles of everyone watching us will be like a field of flowers.

Kaho:
That’s why I’ve worked so hard on those morning exercises!

Kozue:
Hmhm, exactly. You’ve really worked hard, not being late even a single day.

Kozue:
Alright, let’s wrap up today’s practice here. We should rest for the performance tomorrow.

Kaho:
Huh? But we’re not done with the agenda!

Kozue:
Even resting can be fine practice. Please understand. I’ll see you tomorrow.

Kaho:
Kozue-senpai… Um… I’m just gonna run a little more on the way to the dorm!

Kozue:
Ah! Hey!

Kozue:
…Hmph. She’s always giving it everything she has. Having a junior can be quite a handful… but she is cute.
