All three subunits have advanced past the Love Live! regional qualifiers without incident. Spurred into action by Sayaka’s remarkable growth, Tsuzuri decides to run as a candidate for the Open House Committee.
Tsuzuri:
We should get going too, Saya.
Sayaka:
…Tsuzuri-senpai.
Sayaka:
Sachi-senpai’s been looking for you.
Tsuzuri:
…Since it rained?
Sayaka:
Yes. Pretty much right as soon as it started, actually. She didn’t say exactly why she was looking for you, though.
Tsuzuri:
…She’s gonna make us cancel the performance.
Sayaka:
Huh?
Tsuzuri:
Just ignore her. As long as I don’t go, she can’t cancel it.
Sayaka:
P-Please, hold on a second!
So you decided to continue with the performance anyway, despite not getting permission from the student council… And you aren’t planning to discuss it with Sachi-senpai?
Tsuzuri:
…Is there a problem with that?
Sayaka:
It’s not even that!
If Sachi-senpai plans to cancel our performance, surely she’d have a good reason to do so, wouldn’t she?
Tsuzuri:
…Because we don’t know when it’ll stop raining.
Instead of keeping the girls waiting for it, they’d have a better event if we just sent them home. I bet she’ll say something like that.
Tsuzuri:
But I can dance, even in the rain! It’s not like the rain will take the stage away!
Sayaka:
But Senpai… the audience would get soaked…
Tsuzuri:
But I still want to do something. Saya… do you think I’m crazy, too?
Sayaka:
Based on that “too”, do you mean me and someone else?
Tsuzuri:
…Saya.
I just want today’s event to be the best event it can be. I don’t want to have to cut it short because of this rain. That’s why–
Sachi:
Attention, open house committee member Yugiri Tsuzuri. Committee member Yugiri Tsuzuri. Report to the student council room immediately.
Tsuzuri:
…I’m not going.
Sayaka:
I understand wanting to continue on with this performance. I also wanted to bring today’s event to a wonderful close with it.
But with these circumstances… It would be rude for us to keep the middle-schoolers waiting when we have no plans to continue…
Tsuzuri:
And that’s why we’re gonna look for a plan… Is that not okay, Saya…? It’d just be a waste of time going to the student council room. Why don’t we go and look now?
Sayaka:
Tsuzuri-senpai!
Why…? Why are you going so far out of your way to avoid Sachi-senpai?
If she really is planning on canceling the performance… Even if we start preparing now, without permission from the student council or the school, we still may end up not being able to perform.
Sayaka:
At least talk with her… I-I can come along with you!
Tsuzuri:
…I get it, already.
Sayaka:
…Tsuzuri-senpai?
Tsuzuri:
Wanting to go on is just how I feel about it. She’s right. I get it. I’m crazy. I know it, and I know you know it too.
Sayaka:
…
Tsuzuri:
The student council president is right. Even last year, when she quit the School Idol Club.
If she didn’t become president, we wouldn’t be able to go to Omicho after school, and we wouldn’t be able to use SIC.
Not even our other club activities… no training camps, no competitions… We all should be thanking her.
Sayaka:
I don’t know exactly how things got to this point, but…
Tsuzuri:
The student council president is always right. So if I go, I won’t be able to say anything.
As soon as the word “canceled” comes out of her, it’s over. I’ll have to accept it.
Tsuzuri:
–Just like when she said she quit.
Sayaka:
!
Sayaka:
…Why couldn’t you say anything?
Tsuzuri:
Because… She was the one in the right.
Even when she left Megu just after she was injured. Even when that made Kozu start acting strangely.
Tsuzuri:
Even when… she suddenly disappeared from right in front of me…
But I’m the one who’s weird here… Because Kozu and Megu… both of them can still talk with her…
Tsuzuri:
You too, Saya…! Even after… she put you through all that, you still thanked her…
Sayaka:
True, I guess…
Tsuzuri:
I’m not right. I know that. I know, but…
It still hurts, hearing myself say it…
Sayaka:
Tsuzuri-senpai…
Sayaka:
…Is Sachi-senpai really such an uncaring person?
Tsuzuri:
I don’t know. I don’t understand her.
We were having so much fun in the School Idol Club, but she still left us so easily… I really don’t understand.
Sayaka:
…I wonder… if it really was so easy for her.
Tsuzuri:
Saya?
Sayaka:
I don’t know what happened last year.
But just based on my interactions with her leading up to the Rindou Festival, I don’t think Sachi-senpai is so uncaring as to ruthlessly abandon you without a second thought.
Sayaka:
If it were you, Tsuzuri-senpai… would you be able to be so cruel to your juniors?
In my opinion, Sachi-senpai probably stressed over her decision very much behind closed doors.
Tsuzuri:
…What makes you so sure about that?
Sayaka:
Hm, I suppose it’s because…
Sayaka:
When you suddenly distanced yourself from me, I believed in you. That there was some good reason for it.
Tsuzuri:
!
Sachi:
Yugiri Tsuzuri… I’ll be waiting.
Tsuzuri:
…Hey, Saya.
Sayaka:
Yes.
Tsuzuri:
I really want our performance to succeed.
Sayaka:
Of course.
Tsuzuri:
And also. I know that I always depend on you… I’m always standing by your side, so when it looked like you were leaving me behind… I was scared.
Sayaka:
I understand.
Tsuzuri:
You’re always helping me, but… just wait. I’ll do my best, and I’ll catch up to you.
Sayaka:
…I will. No matter what, let’s do our best together.
Tsuzuri:
I’m gonna make this performance happen, no matter what. So…
Sayaka:
Okay. We’ll keep looking for a way for us to achieve that.
