All three subunits have advanced past the Love Live! regional qualifiers without incident. Spurred into action by Sayaka’s remarkable growth, Tsuzuri decides to run as a candidate for the Open House Committee.
Tsuzuri:
This open house meeting isn’t going anywhere.
Ena:
Huh? O-Oh, right! Well, it’s my first time being on a committee too, so I don’t really know how the other committees do it!
Ena:
Not only is it the first year they’re doing this kind of event, but introducing the school to people is pretty tough!
Tsuzuri:
Introducing the school, huh…
Ena:
Tsuzuri-senpai?
Tsuzuri:
Ena. I want you to tell Saya something. Tell her that starting now, I’m gonna do something amazing.
Ena:
Hm? Sure… Tsuzuri-senpai, what are you–
Tsuzuri:
Listen up, everyone.
Tsuzuri:
–I’m gonna sing.
Ena:
Here!?
Sayaka:
Huh? Tsuzuri-senpai did that?
Ena:
Yeah! It was really cool! So, it was during our committee meeting, right?
She gave us a ton of advice! Stuff like, “maybe doing it this way would be better?”
Through her song!
Sayaka:
Tsuzuri-senpai hasn’t experienced an open house event before, though… Hm? Wait, something seems kinda off with what you said. Through her song?
Ena:
But she got so much done! Seriously!
Sayaka:
I-I see…
Ena:
Huh? You don’t seem that happy, even though we’re talking about Tsuzuri-senpai.
Sayaka:
No, no. It’s good to hear that Tsuzuri-senpai’s been working very hard.
Ena:
What are you, her mom…?
Sayaka:
It’s just that it feels like she’s been avoiding me recently. She even said I didn’t need to help her get dressed in the morning…
Ena:
Isn’t helping her get dressed kind of... You know...? Uhh, how do I put this... Maybe Tsuzuri-senpai doesn’t... not anymore, Sayaka-chan...
Sayaka:
No, that’s not what’s happening here. It’s not like she suddenly hates me or something like that.
Sayaka:
I just feel kinda… lonely, I’d say.
It’s quite embarrassing for me to say this. For me, who’s been taking care of her, to have these sorts of feelings is truly shameful.
Ena:
S-Sure… No, wait, I mean, it’s good that your relationship hasn’t soured. But how are you so sure of that?
Sayaka” How, huh…? Well… because I believe in her, I suppose. In the promises we’ve made, in the time we’ve spent practicing together, all sorts of things like that.
Sayaka:
And, well… I guess there’s something going on with Tsuzuri-senpai that’s causing her to avoid me. I’m mainly worried because I don’t know what it is…
Kozue:
Did you really come up with this, Tsuzuri?
Tsuzuri:
Don’t act so surprised.
Kozue:
I’m sorry. But, it’s just… it’s very sensible–
Tsuzuri:
I’m the one who doubts my memories of this the most.
Kozue:
So you were worried about your memory of it… Never mind. I think this is excellent work.
Kozue:
The concept is as wonderful as your usual ideas, but I am honestly surprised you’ve properly compiled all this paperwork.
The overall event plan, as well as the recreational events for the day… Yes, this all seems very good.
I believe that this plan would make our guests very pleased.
Tsuzuri:
Yeah, I did my best. I got a lot of help from everyone, though.
Kozue:
Everyone?
Tsuzuri:
Yeah. Everyone in the committee. They’re all really nice.
Kozue:
…
Kozue:
Tsuzuri, I do agree that everyone is very kind. However, I don’t think that’s the full picture. I think they respect you very much.
Tsuzuri:
?
Kozue:
This incredible plan is comprised of many wonderful ideas.
I think the other committee members recognize that even though you’re stepping out of your comfort zone, you’re still trying very hard.
I believe that’s why everyone is supporting you.
Tsuzuri:
Did I… do good?
Kozue:
I think you couldn’t be doing better. Honestly, I’m a little relieved.
Tsuzuri:
Phew… So I have more meetings after school now, too… It’s really tiring…
Tsuzuri:
But I think I’m doing pretty well. Probably? I feel like I’ve worked really hard, but I feel like I can try even harder. I guess I should… hm?
Megumi:
Yo.
Megumi:
Hey. Is all this… ‘cause of what I said?
Tsuzuri:
What do you mean?
Megumi:
I was just thinking, maybe the reason you’ve been running around and doing all this stuff was because I said something I shouldn’t have…
You know, that whole thing about whether six Sayaka-chans would be better?
Tsuzuri:
Oof…
Megumi:
Since then you started thinking that you need to show that Sayaka-chan isn’t better than you, right… well, cogito, ergo Megu.
…That’s what I wanted to say. Did I read too much into it?
Tsuzuri:
…Uh… Well… Yes, that’s right.
Megumi:
I like it when you’re honest, Tsuzuri.
Megumi:
Anyway, I’m sorry. I wasn’t expecting you to take it that way.
Tsuzuri:
It’s not about… who’s better.
Megumi:
Hm?
Tsuzuri:
Saya and I promised. The two of us would stand together, side-by-side… But…
Tsuzuri:
Saya’s gone even further ahead… further away from my side. She’s so far ahead that I can barely see her now.
Megumi:
…I don’t see it like that, and I’m sure Sayaka-chan doesn’t, either. But I get it. That’s why you decided to join the open house committee.
Tsuzuri:
Yeah. And I know that doing things for our future juniors based on feelings like this isn’t good…
…I feel like a pill bug that’s been poked around so much it has to curl up.
Tsuzuri:
Curl.
Megumi:
B-But, you’ve been doing well despite everything.
You came up with fun ideas and got everyone fired up. You may not be good at admin stuff, but that’s also cute.
Tsuzuri:
Are you talking about yourself?
Megumi:
It’s about you, dummy.
Megumi:
How rude. My cuteness is way more balanced than yours… Wait, that doesn’t matter right now. What’s important is that you’ve been doing good!
Even if you didn’t have the most honest reason to join at first, you’re doing great now, so you should be proud!
Tsuzuri:
Oh, thank you. That was really nice, Megu.
Megumi:
I’m always nice.
Tsuzuri:
But you’re not usually nice just to be nice.
Megumi:
You don’t need to go into detail like that!
Tsuzuri:
But maybe you’re right.
Megumi:
…About what?
Tsuzuri:
The reason I decided to join was because I was unsure of myself. But maybe I can still do things well now.
Tsuzuri:
We need to show all those girls who want to enroll here what makes Hasunosora so special. That’s what the open house committee is for.
To me, that’s sorta like… what school idols do. That’s what I want to do as a school idol.
Megumi:
Even though this is separate from the School Idol Club?
Tsuzuri:
Yeah. Even if it’s not as part of the School Idol Club, it’s still as a school idol. I don’t know if the others feel the same way, though.
Megumi:
…Hmmm. Well, I'm sure you have your reasons for doing this.
And it looks like your efforts are gonna be successful.
After that, all that’s left is for Sayaka-chan to say something like, “I knew Tsuzuri-senpai was the best!”, and then even your motives will be sorted out!
Tsuzuri:
I don’t think Saya would go that far, though? And also, it’s not like I’m doing this to fish for compliments…
Megumi:
Quit it, already! What you need is more self-confidence!
Tsuzuri:
Megu.
Megumi:
What now!?
Tsuzuri:
Thanks for worrying about me.
Megumi:
…I hate how you always say stuff like you see right through me.
Tsuzuri:
Wha–……? Hate……?
Megumi:
Stop getting so shocked by every little thing! I was too embarrassed to admit it! Don’t make me explain it!
