A second standing army mechanic in the Project Augustus Mod is the bureaucratic standing army. Based on the ideal of the senatorial armies of the mid and early republic, these armies possess no commanders and no divided loyalties, however they do possess all the weaknesses that come from not having a professional officer corp.
