  • Kurt mentions the fact that cfunited venue was fantastic venue, lower turnout (600 people) then they would have liked

  • Matt mentions the fact that ORM functionality is built in to CF9, and that it is coming soon to the alternative engines, and with that said, may or may not be wise to focus on connectivity to existing ORM tools

    • Matt mentions that he may do a session on developing in CFML using open source tools
    • Peter suggests pinging Bob Flynn to solidify a few ideas on the sessions to make sure the content is the right fit for the attendees

    • Kurt mentions that the 1.8 beta is the next item up for discussion
    • At Peter's request, Matt says he will update the test harness for 1.8 compatibility with the remaining form tags (radiogroup, checkboxgroup) and finish the data binding in them.
    • Matt mentions that once we run through the beta testing, we should ask for some feedback from the community when we push out RC1 to ensure we have a substantial user group banging away on the updated code and new features

    • Peter suggests we decide on a codename for 1.9, and Kurt looks up planned features for the release
    • Kurt talks about validation, packages, and AJAX/REST support as key features for 1.9
    • Matt mentions potentially being able to dig in a bit more on some coding for the 1.9 release, but points out that we'll need to make sure everything is very clearly laid out and organized up front to make the development process as straightforward as possible

    • Peter offers to be take the feature lead on the upcoming validation system in 1.9

    • Team agrees that targeted and concise screencasts would add value to our growing set of documentation and framework resources
    • Peter brings up idea about creating a screencast for "About" section on the website a way to market the framework to people researching frameworks.
    • Meeting wrap up, team in agreement that it has been productive and that we are moving in the right direction wrapping up 1.8 and transitioning into 1.9
