How to DSKY - MOARdV/MOARdVPlus GitHub Wiki
The ASET Display and Keyboard (DSKY) unit provides multiple modes to display orbital data both for the current vessel and a targeted vessel.
The display is divided into three sections, corresponding to the three rows of buttons on the bottom of the instrument.
The upper section of the display consists of three rows of numeric data. The middle and lower section each contain a single row.
Upper Display Section
The upper section has four modes, selected by pressing one of the buttons on the top row. These modes are:
- ORBIT (displayed above) - displays the vessel's Ap (km), Pe (km), and inclination (degrees).
- TGT - Target information mode displays a targeted craft's Ap and Pe as well as the relative inclination between the vessel and target.
The RNDZ button has two modes. Rendezvous mode (RNDZ) is active when there is a target, but no maneuver nodes are scheduled. Rendezvous-maneuver (RNDZ-MNVR) is active when there is a target and a maneuver node.
- RNDZ - Target rendezvous mode displays rendezvous information for a targeted craft. Valid when DSKY is in RNDZ mode and there is no maneuver scheduled. The top row displays the closest approach distance in meters, the middle row displays the current approach speed in m/s, and the bottom row displays relative inclination. In addition, the middle section displays a countdown to time of closest approach.
- RNDZ-MNVR - Rendezvous-maneuver mode displays post-maneuver rendezvous information for a targeted craft. Valid when DSKY is in RNDZ mode and there is an upcoming maneuver node. The display is effectively the same information as the RNDZ display, except that it displays the values that will result from the maneuver being completed. When in rendezvous-maneuver mode, the MNVR captions on the DSKY will flash.
- MNVR - Maneuver mode displays the vessel's Ap (km), Pe (km), and inclination (degrees) after applying the scheduled maneuver.
Middle Display Section
When the DSKY is in ORBIT, TGT, or MNVR, the middle section displays time to Ap, time to Pe, time to AN, time to DN, time to maneuver node, or time to launch (not currently implemented), depending on which button is pressed in the middle row of buttons. When the DSKY is in rendezvous mode RNDZ or RNDZ-MNVR, the middle display section shows the time to closest approach.
Lower Display Section
The lower section can be configured to display total delta-Vee, stage dV, maneuver node dV, or the dV require to rendezvous with a target.
