GM Replacement Process - MLROOTC/MLR-OOTC GitHub Wiki

  • The team is allowed to nominate one internal candidate, which LOMs will vet and approve or disapprove
    • Create a group chat with LOMs and the candidate
    • Ask questions about their experience, why they want to be GM, etc.
      • Things to look out for:
        • Does the candidate have experience managing or leading a group of people online?
        • Do they have any examples of time management and communication skills to stay on top of AB timers
        • Do they have a good understanding of the rules of the game via being a MiLR GM, co-GM, umpire, etc.
        • How likely are they to fly off the handle when an in game decision doesn’t go their way?
        • Is any form of past leadership sticking around to help give them guidance, particularly if any of the above areas are lacking?
    • Ask if there is anyone they would like us to talk to as a reference
    • Reach out to references via DMs and share screenshots with LOM chat
  • If LOMs approve of the candidate, it will go to a team approval vote, and must have 75% in favor of the candidate
    • If the candidate has been co-GM for at least 3 sessions, they need 50% approval to become permanent candidate
    • If they have not, the candidate needs 75% approval
    • If the candidate does not receive the required votes, continue on to the external replacement process
  • LOMs will get a list of external candidates together by polling the potential GMs channel in main or reaching out to individuals that may be good candidates
  • LOMs will have a ranked choice vote on all candidates. The top three will be presented to the team
  • LOMs and candidates should join the team server, and have the interim GM create a channel for team members, potential GMs, and LOMs only
  • For the next 24 hours, the candidates may make a speech and the team is allowed to ask questions
  • Once the 24 hour question period is up, the team will vote on candidates
    • It should be a ranked choice vote for the three possible candidates
    • The vote must be up for at least 24 hours
