A side-scrolling platform runner for Windows PCs
Main heading
You play Moce, a 100-year-old guy, frustrated with the life he had, jumps off the globe committing suicide. Destiny chooses a different ending though and as you fall you collect seconds until you reach the very beginning of your life. Each level represents 1 year and for each year you have several seconds to collect. 9 chapters representing Moce’s life periods, each with new obstacles, skills and characters in each one!
High Concept
• Several levels spanning across 9 chapters. Each level being a memory of Moce’s life within said chapter. Moce’s abilities and appearance change with each chapter as he takes on a younger form, and his abilities reflect with the change (as an elder, he uses a walking cane, as a fetus, he kicks for example).
• Played in a side scroller style, within a 3D environment, with platforming and obstacles to avoid, along with collectables to pick up.
• Time is both a constraint and a goal. This means that to survive the level Moce must keep collecting seconds, to decrease the progress bar (representing going back in time) while avoiding obstacles that will fill the bar if hit.
• At the start of each level, the player can choose one modifier for each of Moce’s tools, giving specific advantages while playing the level that suit the player’s playstyle, like focusing on gliding or jumping higher for example.
• Levels increase in difficulty, be it by Moce moving at higher speed, or a bigger ratio of negative objects (obstacles, enemies) to beneficial objects (seconds), as well as density of the objects themselves.
Essence Statement
The worlds in the game gradually progress in visual tone and mood from dark and depressing to colourful, and blissful, while at the same time the gameplay becomes faster, and denser in items and obstacles with each level. The protagonist’s appearance will also reflect with the progression of the chapters, taking on a younger look with each new chapter.
Appeal
The game’s aesthetic style is based on simplistic polygonal models with flat shaded textures that bare little details. This allows us to present a game that’s visually easy on the eyes with minimalist styling. The side scrolling platform nature, combined with the minimalist aesthetic creates an inviting environment for people that are used to playing simplistic mobile games on the way to college or work, therefore having the potential to pull in an audience of young adults between the ages 18 to 25.

Despite the average results, the games researched have shown polarizing and inconclusive results, with some games having mixed to slightly negative reviews but large player bases, due to the sub $1 prices they practice, but also positive score games like Speedrunners which charge a higher price. Despite that, the average price falls under $10, so it’s highly recommended to set the price around that value.
