To make it easy to identity units on the battlefield at a glance, all units on the map have a colored underlay that matches their commander's colors. For PCs, the color of their commander matches the color they assign with the color picker. For NPC commanders, the color is picked randomly (from a small pool of 'normal' colors).

You can change any of these colors on the fly by clicking the color swatch on the battle tracker, and selecting a new color. Tokens update automatically to match this color.
