Motor Sizing

  • We will be using 2 DC motors, one for vertical crushing and another for horizontal pushing.
  • We will be using the formula- T=FD where F is mg*coff. of friction, D is the diameter in mm is in kg n=0.9

F = (2.8 ) x 0.4 `= 1.12 kg

T = 1.12 * 1.6 *1.5 = 2.688 Kgcm `


Vertical Crushing motor

RPM: 30.

  • Operating Voltage: 12V DC

  • Gearbox: Attached Plastic (spur)Gearbox

  • Shaft diameter: 6mm with internal hole

  • Torque: 4 kg-cm

  • No-load current = 60 mA(Max)

  • Load current = 450 mA(Max).

Horizontal Pushing motor

For the Horizontal pushing motor the same 30 RPM motor is used for symmetricity of speed of crushing and pushing.
