Items & Blocks - Lyinginbedmon/TricksyFoxes GitHub Wiki

Tricksy Foxes does not add any new ores or world generation features, so can be used both from the beginning of a new world or in an existing one without worry.

Blocks

Bottle O' Prescience

A Bottle O' Prescience placed in the world as a decoration Prescience is a substance resulting from the combination of a Bottle O' Enchanting and an Amethyst Shard. It is a relatively large bottle and can be placed, emitting a low light level.

Clockwork Friar

This upgraded version of the Work Table is twice the size, but as a benefit is both able to hold a specific recipe in its inventory and able to siphon necessary ingredients for that recipe for neighbouring inventories instead of requiring that they be piped in somehow. Whilst the recipe can be specified using any appropriate items, the friar will also use any item that fulfils the needs of its recipe, such as the use of any kind of plank to create a chest instead of only the type(s) used in its inventory slots. In addition to its size, it also takes 1 second (20 ticks) to craft, spitting out the product into the world similar to a dropper (though it will not deposit into inventories like a dropper does).

Finally, the friar will attempt to craft when given a redstone pulse OR when activated by right-clicking. This makes it very useful for interfacing with behaviour trees using the Activate Block leaf node.

Prescient Candle

The Prescient Candle is a light-emitting block resulting from the combining of string, honeycomb, and a Bottle O' Prescience. By sneak + right-clicking an enlightened mob, it can be linked to them (a candle can only be linked to one mob at a time). When placed, it can then be right-clicked to view the activity of that mob's behaviour tree in real-time, making it extremely useful for troubleshooting behaviours. For server performance reasons, this functionality can also be disabled in the server config.

Additionally, the candle will produce a redstone signal when attached to a comparator. The intensity of this signal can be altered by the linked mob using the Pray leaf node at any prescient candle. This allows the candle to transmit redstone signals from the behaviour tree system across any distance and even between dimensions.

Work Table

The work Table is, at its core, simply a crafting table with extra storage, allowing you to leave items inside of it whilst retrieving additional items needed for recipes. Additionally however, it can be given a redstone pulse to craft using its inventory if at all possible. The resulting product (if any) is then stored in an inventory slot accessible from below, such as by a hopper.

Items

Periapt O' Prescience

This periapt is a Bottle O' Prescience on a Lead, allowing it to be given to a mob to wear around its neck. The periapt helps the mob to comprehend both what they experience as well as the implications of those experiences, speeding their way towards enlightenment.

Prescient Scroll

The Prescient Scroll is a result of imbuing a sheet of Paper with a little bit of insight, and allows the player to mark various things for use in a whiteboard.

To add the value to a fox's personal whiteboard, right-click them with the note after naming it in an anvil. To add to a sage's whiteboard, left-click the finalised scroll on to a Sage Hat in the inventory. To prevent the scroll from being used up when given to a mob or added to a sage whiteboard, craft it together with any candle to seal it.

To select a value type, hold shift and right-click the note in your inventory to cycle between them. To clear the note, shift and right-click it whilst not looking at anything. Different types of note can be added to in particular ways:

  • Items - Crafting the item with the note in the crafting table.
  • Number - Crafting the note with an equivalent volume of paper in the crafting table. This functionally limits number values to between 0 and 512.
  • Yes/No - Crafting the note with either black dye (no) or white dye (yes)
  • Entities - Shift + right-click the creature with the note
  • Positions - Shift + right-click the block with the note. This will also store what side of the block was targeted, which is useful for managing furnaces and the like.

Sage Fan

These dyeable fans are the ultimate expression of ones' dramatic flair. They can also be used to deliver a variety of orders to master tricksy mobs. Simply point at the target and hold right-click, then scroll to select which specific order is desired, then release right-click to disseminate the order. For added specificity, mobs will only accept orders from a valid sage and a sage fan matching the colour of their garments (if they have any).

Sage Hat

A Sage Hat is vital to impressing upon enlightened mobs that you are to be respected. It is crafted with Gold Ingots, an Amethyst Shard, and Leather and provides the same properties as a Leather Helmet.

Right-clicking an enlightened mob will store the player's UUID inside of the hat and, if the mob does not already follow a sage, will endear it to follow the instruction of whosoever wieldeth a hat with the same UUID (whether worn or held in either hand). Additionally, completed Prescient Scrolls can be left-clicked onto the hat in any inventory to add their values to the corresponding sage's whiteboard, where they are accessible by all apprentices of that sage.

Scripture

A Scripture is a hefty tome crafted with eight (8) Prescient Scrolls and a Book & Quill, and is used for the storing, reviewing, and pasting of entire behaviour trees. The contained tree can be viewed in a read-only fashion by right-clicking, and can be sealed by crafting the scripture with any candle to prevent it from being overwritten in future.

Sealing Ofuda

Dropped by the Onryoji, these seals are thrown weapons that replicate boss' distinct attack of the same name, creating a projectile which binds to the first creature it passes through and then sticks itself against whatever block it hits. So long as the seal persists, the victim is afflicted with Weakness and Poison and is dragged towards the seal by a magical chain.

Token of Mastery

Dropped by the Onryoji, these tokens can advance a mob by one enlightenment step (either nascent to apprentice or apprentice to master), twice before breaking. This makes them useful for resummoning the Onryoji as well as in expediting the enlightenment process of other mobs.
