Maintaining Journals - LunarNeil/Call-of-Cthulhu-Campaign GitHub Wiki
Players are required to bring their Journals with them when they play Realms of Mythos and Madness. Not only does is the Journal a convenient way to organize clues, but several game mechanics specifically reference using the Journal and benefit from the ability to roleplay its usage at the table.
Forgetting to bring your Journal can lead to important clues and secrets being forgotten, and unless you bring a copy of your magical lore it may be impossible to retrace the symbols used for arcane rituals.
Journals will always include at least one page, the character sheet, but will grow as notes, clues, and magics are collected over a campaign. Players can organize their Journal in any way they choose, though a binder or notebook is the simplest way to create a Journal that keeps everything in order. Most of the entries in the journal will be written in as notes, but Moderator handouts can be added directly or taped to pages to make it simpler.
