Arbitrated Attribute Development - LunarNeil/Call-of-Cthulhu-Campaign GitHub Wiki

Investigators change slowly over time, gaining new abilities and revealing interesting stories about themselves while on adventure. This form of slow, natural character development is called Arbitrated Attribute Development.

Players can request the Moderator to approve their Investigator developing a new Skill, Possession or Story. If this request is approved, the player receives a roleplaying requirement and achieves the attribute adjustment once this requirement has been satisfied.

This requirement allows Arbitrated Attribute gains to flow naturally from the Investigator roleplay done at the gaming table. Commonly this roleplaying requirement stipulates at least two sessions of good roleplay where the character demonstrates the development or revelation of this new Attribute.
