You can look at the formative assessment document in the final assessment file for more detail on the project.
I love to have debates with my friends. One of the hardest parts of it is to be on the same page, have the right statistic, the right definitions. It can ruin a good debate if the debater is arguing on the meaning of a word. During the lockdown I discovered discord and love the personalization of the server.
The best part was discovering the bots you could add into it. It was such a fun idea to have this interactive participant at all time. There is a great diversity of bot. I also joined the discord.py server. In it, bots’ creators can speak about their creation and you can test different bots.
Here are some bots that have been using/ Interested in :
-
The groovy bot who helps you to put music in the voice channels. It is an efficient bot with little personality. Other bots have this same concept of efficiency where the bot is just here to help the user.
-
Other bot such as the 'dank memer' bot place a bigger importance in the different games you can play with it. It does not have a big personality, but the different action offered by it makes you interact with it more frequently.
While creating a commercial bot the personality is only a vector to the product, in artistic or non-commercial bot the personality is more prevalent. I found this interaction fascinating, as it is a conversation that you create with a non-human entity. I tried to put some 'game' aspect in my bot to make it more interesting to use. The exchange between the user and the bot is a great opportunity to surprise them and create a new kind of expectation.
