Continuum Launcher FAQ
What games can be launched from Continuum?
Any Xbox 360 title that Xenia can play can be launched using Continuum.
What input devices work with Continuum?
You can use a mouse, keyboard, or XInput-compatible gamepad/controller to navigate Continuum. If the controller works with Continuum, there is a high chance it will also work in Xenia, and vice versa.
Whenever I open Continuum Launcher, no games load. What happened?
Your config file may have been reset somehow. If you have any backups of the config file (highly recommended), restore it to the 'Content' folder and ensure it is named "XLConfig.txt"
Continuum crashes on startup or never starts
This usually means there is no config file, the config file has been corrupted, or all games were deleted by the user. Restore the config file from a backup, or download the templates file from the main release and use the XLConfig.txt file provided. If this does not fix the issue, please report this as you may have found a bug, and be sure to upload your log file too.
I think I've found a bug, how can I report it?
You can open an Issue on GitHub. Please also upload any applicable log files as well, as that will greatly help. Thank you for helping to make Continuum even better!
Can Continuum automatically recognize Cover Art for games?
It can, if properly structured. To fit in with normal Xbox 360 folder structure, if cover art is located in a "_covers" folder in the directory before the game file, and the artwork itself is named "cover0.jpg", Continuum should recognize the file and load it in on the next restart.
A Xenia setting I want isn't in any settings menu. How can I apply that setting?
In the Launch Settings menu (found by clicking the "Manage Game" button before launching), there is a button in the bottom-right corner called "Additional Parameters". Here, you can add additional command line arguments that will be passed to Xenia whenever this game is launched. A list of those arguments can be found here.
I deleted a file in the Manage Data window, but it still appears when I click the game again
In order for recent deletions or additions to be represented in the Manage Data window, you must refresh the window.
Is there a faster way to put filepaths into a Text window?
Yes! You can paste with Ctrl+V.
How do I switch Categories and Sort my games?
To switch Categories, use the Ctrl keys, LB or RB on an Xbox controller, or click on the Category name at the top of the dashboard. To Sort games, use the Shift keys, Y on an Xbox controller, or click the Sort text in the top right corner of the dashboard.
Every time I open the Manage Data window, it says there is a missing game, What gives?
Likely, a game file is missing/inaccessible at its provided location. Either return the game file to it's previous location, or update it's location in the Game Filepaths window in that game's settings.
Do individual executables/XEXs have unique settings?
No, they do not at this time. They use the same settings as their parent game.
The date and/or time isn't in a format I like. Can I change it?
Yes! Click on the date and/or time and it will change to military time or the day/month/year format, respectively.
Loading the Manage Data window seems to take a long time
On the main screen, wait until the storage information fades in on the bottom right of the screen. Click on it, and it will disable refreshing that information whenever the Manage Data window is opened. It may load faster now.
I can't seem to import DLC or Title Updates, what's wrong?
First, ensure that 'xenia-vfs-dump.exe' is present in the Apps\Dump directory. If so, make sure that Continuum's 'Consolidate Saves' option is enabled (Menu -> Launcher Options -> Xenia Settings). Also note that Continuum only imports content into Xenia Canary, not Xenia Master. If issues persist, make a GitHub issue with details and it will be reviewed.
Can I have a custom Xenia build set for a specific game?
Yes, although Continuum doesn't have full UI support for it yet. In a game's Launch Options, set the "Allow Custom Builds" option to Yes. This will prevent Continuum from copying Xenia executables to the game's XData folder, meaning that you can replace it with your own build of Xenia or Xenia Canary and it won't be overwritten. You would simply go into the XData folder in Continuum's folder, choose either Xenia or Canary, and add an executable. Note that Xenia must be named "xenia.exe", or "xenia_canary.exe" for Canary, for Continuum to recognize it.
I have a lot of games. How can I manage them faster in Continuum?
While there is no bulk import option (yet), you can use the bumpers on the controller or press a letter key on the keyboard to jump ahead to a new section of games.
A game isn't working! What's wrong with this broken launcher???
If Xenia can't run a game well, or your computer isn't powerful enough to run it, there is nothing that can be done to fix it. If a specific game isn't being launched from Continuum, and Xenia is never opening, make a GitHub issue in this repository with details.
What are the requirements to run Continuum Launcher?
If you can run a game in Xenia, you can run Continuum. That being said, Continuum only runs natively on Windows currently.
