Literature in Context uses a combination of GitHub and AWS to store and make available database contents. All XML data is stored on GitHub at https://github.com/LiteratureInContext/LiC-data (main branch is production; development branch is development). XML files are stored in the data folder in the GitHub data repository, nested inside folders for each author by lastname. Note that the author folders should use title caps.
Each digital edition is stored in a single XML file inside the author folder. For instance, inside LiC-data/data/Austen are the XML files for Lady Susan, Northanger Abbey, Pride and Prejudice, and Sanditon

Each digital edition uses the naming convention “author-title.xml” in all lowercase. This filename is important because it is also the unique xml:id for each text in the database, and that is what helps us connect the files referenced in the XML to the storage space on AWS. Note the namespace line in the xml file that also contains the unique xml:id for Northanger Abbey:
